Meet The Judges

We are looking for projects that demonstrate the highest quality of workmanship, customer experience and overall professionalism. Each entry will be thoroughly assessed and shortlisted projects maybe subject to site visits. Judging won’t be on the magnitude of the project itself, but rather the level of detail, skill and customer experience as a whole.

Entries will be anonymously assessed with the judging led by Dulux Academy industry experts and previous Dulux Select Grand Winners Mark Rigby & Tony Pearson-Young.

Winners will be awarded for each category and if appropriate award commended and highly commended awards. The judges will select a Grand Winner from the category winners.

If for any reason there is no clear category winner, no winner or joint winners will be awarded. The judges’ decision is final.

Mark Rigby | Dulux Academy – Skills Development Consultant

Following a hugely successful painting and decorating career spanning over 30 years and the achievement of many industry awards and accolades including the 2015 Dulux Trade Ultimate Professional. Mark joined the Dulux Academy team to support the launch in 2016.

Mark was a Dulux Select Decorator holding the following:

Tony Pearson-Young | Dulux Academy – Skills Development Consultant

Throughout his 30 year painting and decorating career Tony has strived to be the best he can be gaining a distinction in his Advanced City & Guilds and a number of industry awards. Tony joined the Dulux Academy team in 2017 encouraging others to be the best they can be.

Tony was a Dulux Select Decorator holding the following:

Marianne Shillingford | Creative Director Dulux

Having run a successful decorating and interior design business for many years Marianne has experience in the practical application of colour and wide variety of painted finishes including mural work, sign writing and faux finishes. Marianne has experience as a journalist and TV presenter and this year was voted as one of on the judging panel for a number of design industry and interior awards.
